EverLast® Introduces the Only Type III Induction Cobra Head Fixture

First installment in the EverLast® Smart Light Series locally manufactured in former car country.

Jackson, MI, July 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Throughout the United States, government agencies are searching for ways to reduce energy costs in their communities. The U.S. Department of Energy recommends “reducing lighting energy use by selecting lighting sources that use energy more efficiently, and by installing lighting controls.”[1] Leading the way in energy efficient lighting is Michigan based EverLast® Induction Lighting, the manufacturer of Smart Light Induction Fixtures. EverLast® Smart Light Fixtures incorporate step-dimming and on/off sensor controls for increased pedestrian safety and unmatched energy savings.

The EverLast® Smart Light Series will be manufactured in Jackson, Michigan USA. Starting July, EverLast® Cobra Head Fixtures will begin rolling off the assembly line to complete orders already placed by municipalities, universities and federal agencies that are moving towards energy efficiency. The EverLast® Smart Light Cobra Head will be the first of four new Michigan Made induction fixtures. Short to follow will be a Type III Acorn Walkway Fixture, IP65 Rated Shoe Box Fixture and Step-Dimming Garage Fixture.

Ideal for freeway, roadway, secondary roads, off street areas and parking lots, the Type III Cobra Head offers better light distribution than a standard Type I or II street light. A wider light distribution is achieved in the Type III Cobra Fixture by producing side-to-side lighting as opposed to front only lighting. Additionally, the fixture produces two times more illumination than LEDs. As a result of bringing the manufacturing state side EverLast® Lighting was able to redevelop the design, distribution and illumination, inturn requiring fewer EverLast® Type III Cobra Head fixtures are needed to illuminate the roadway, which saves on up-front costs.

“EverLast® Induction Smart Lights with bi-level and photocell technology really offers one of the most effective near term opportunies to address our energy efficiency goals,” says Professor Michael Siminovitch, Director of the California Lighting Technology Center.

With an unmatched 100,000-hour-rated bulb life and 50-70 percent energy savings over other technologies, the Type III Induction Cobra Head Roadway Fixture offers the lowest lifetime cost of any light source and the fastest ROI. As opposed to heavy metal street light fixtures that will rust or corrode, the new earth-friendly EverLast® Cobra Head body is constructed of lightweight, durable polycarbonate and is composed of 70 percent recycled content, making it the perfect solution for geographic areas that have a high consentration of salt or moisture in the air. With a heavy duty cast aluminum interior mounting system, the hybrid Cobra Head design provides increased durability for harsh environments.
