Shock & Oar Gains US Trademark Protection

Fremantle, Australia, July 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Australian nautical and leisure wear brand, Shock & Oar, has achieved Trademark protection status in the United States of America. The official recognition of the West Australian owned brand means its distinctive name and logo is legally protected against counterfeit copies in the US.

“We are very excited about this milestone,” said Brendon Westerhout, Shock & Oar founder and Managing Director. “It means our products and brand name are further safeguarded worldwide as we continue to pursue our aim of becoming the iconic Australian Nautical and Leisure Wear Brand.”

Shock and Oar is already Trademarked in Australia and New Zealand, with the latest US protection completing coverage of the company’s initial international target markets.

Launched in 2008, Shock & Oar has established a range of nautically-inspired clothing and accessories for men, women and children. Following the success of its online retail business, the company opened its flagship store in Fremantle, Western Australia in June 2009.

“Our new store has caught the attention and captured the hearts of locals and tourists alike,” said Brendon Westerhout.

“We are well poised to take Shock & Oar to the next level and this US Trademark will certainly help us protect the authenticity of our product for our customers,” he said.
