Stainless Steel Resolvers Designed for Extreme Duty and Food Grade Applications

AMCI has developed a family of heavy duty, IP67 rated stainless steel resolver transducers. Options include 304 stainless steel, 5/8” shaft, and hi-temp rating. Designed for harsh environments such as food processing, wash downs, and steel mills.

Terryville, CT, July 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- AMCI realizes the need for extreme-duty sensor feedback in harsh industrial environments, and in response, has developed a family of stainless steel resolver transducers. Options include 303 or 304 stainless steel housing and shaft, and a variety of mounting styles. The IP67 rated product line comes standard with either a 1/4", 3/8”, or 5/8” stainless steel shaft and an oversized double row sealed bearing. The input shaft in each of these stainless steel resolvers extends through the internal core of the resolver rotor windings. This one-piece rotor design eliminates internal coupling components, increases shaft strength and maximizes reliability.

Durability was the highest priority when designing AMCI’s stainless steel resolver transducer family. The optional 5/8” stainless steel shaft boasts exceptional shaft loading, and the high temperature rating up to 150°C (302°F) provides reliability where most sensors fail. Mechanically connected to the shaft of the controlled machine, these transducers are subject to severe conditions such as mechanical shock, vibration, and possibly contaminates such as coolants, salt water mist, and caustic vapors. For food and beverage applications where sanitizing wash downs are required, the stainless steel housing and robust IP67 rating will withstand all cleaning solutions and hose spray.

High performance applications like those found in paper factories, steel mills, ship loading, and mining applications are the inspiration for these extreme-duty rotary sensors. AMCI also considered food grade requirements when designing these resolvers. The non-porous nature of stainless steel will not support growth of mold, mildew, or bacteria. This provides a hygienic, easy to clean solution for customers manufacturing, processing, or packaging food.

AMCI has been designing and manufacturing resolvers and resolver transducers for over twenty years. The company offers over 50 different types of resolvers, including size 11 sensors, single-turn transducers, multi-turn transducers, geared transducers, and stainless steel transducers. AMCI also manufactures a complete line of resolver interface products, cables, and connectors, providing customers with everything necessary to configure a complete resolver sensor feedback system.
