Tarheel State Junior Championship Scheduled to Elite North Carolina Junior Golf Season

Raleigh, NC, July 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The opening event of the Tarheel Golf Foundation's, Tarheel Junior Golf Tour in North Carolina, is scheduled for the weekend of September 26-27, 2009 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Tarheel State Junior will bring some of the top junior golfer from the southeastern US to Chapel Hill. Tour members have claimed national and international junior golf titles, as well as many regional events.

The Tarheel Junior Golf Tour has 500 members and is based in Raleigh, NC. The Tour plays a series of 36 hole nationally-ranked junior golf tournaments between September and May.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the oldest public university in the United States. The AE Finley Golf Course is home to the UNC-CH Men's and Women's golf teams. Designed by George Fazio the golf course is a challenging layout with elevation changes, exceptional green complexes and well placed hazards. The Tarheel State Junior Championship is a major southeastern junior golf tournament.
