Pawfriendly Landscapes is Adopting a Doggie Bag Station to Support Envirowagg, a Dog Waste Recycling Program That Converts Waste Into DOGGONE GOOD COMPOST®

Englewood, CO, July 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Pawfriendly Landscapes is adopting a doggie bag station to support EnviroWagg. The City of Englewood Parks and Recreation Department and Englewood Unleashed are partnering with EnviroWagg, LLC to do an eco-friendly make-over for Canine Corral, a fenced dog park at 4848 S. Windemere Street. Englewood is home to 6,000 dogs that contribute more than 800 tons of dog waste to landfills each year. This recycling program will divert approximately six tons of dog waste per year and process it into DOGGONE GOOD COMPOST®.

Elizabeth explains, "I was approached by Rose Seeman who started this unique program. I immediately agreed."

Parks and Recreation will provide separate bins at the park so that dog owners can dispose of dog waste and trash in separate receptacles. The current plastic pick-up bags will be replaced with oxo-bio bags that are more compatible with composting. Stations with oxo-bio bags will be installed at Jason and Centennial parks, although the composting program itself will initially be limited to Canine Corral.
