)-- The International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA) is pleased to announce that the 2009 Annual IBBA Summit will be hosted in Oklahoma City, OK, September 23-25, 2009. The 3-day educational event is held in conjunction with the IBBA fall governance meetings, and provides breeders the opportunity to showcase their ranch with booth space. The Summit is occurring simultaneously with the Western National Show.
September 23rd: Meeting of the IBBA Executive Committee and the Brangus Publications Inc. Board.
September 24th: Committee reports, followed by a tour of the USDA Research Facility in El Reno, OK. Dr. Mike Brown will present on Brangus Research at the laboratory, and Dr. David Lalman will discuss future trends in cattle.
September 25th: Dr. Mark Allen, Dr. Milton Thomas, Dr. Jim Gibb, and Dr. Kent Anderson will be speaking throughout the day on a variety of topics related top the further development of the Brangus breed. A banquet for attendees will be held at the Oklahoma History Center, an 18-acre, 215,000 square-foot learning center exploring Oklahoma’s unique history of geology, transportation, commerce, culture, aviation, heritage and more.
The 2009 IBBA Summit will take place in the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. For over 95 years, the historic Skirvin Hotel has been synonymous with elegance and innovation hosting oil barons, dignitaries, political leaders and Presidents.
