Hostbasket Host for the Tribute to Michael Jackson

Lochristi, Belgium, July 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The site aims to honor Michael Jackson with an eternal Moonwalk. Shortly after its launch, on Friday evening, the site turned out to be a great success on social networking sites. Especially on Twitter the news about the site spread like wildfire resulting in several thousands of visitors within a few hours. When Studio Brussel started to promote the site on Monday and the media consequently began to spread the news about the site world-wide, the bandwidth had to be increased to 1 Gbit/s to welcome the thousands of visitors. Yesterday evening, on the commemoration of Michael Jackson in the Staples Center in Los Angles, a peak of 2,1 Gbit/s bandwidth was measured, due to 250 000 persons visiting the site in a few hours. In a few days’ time there has been a data traffic of 65 TB spread over 430 000 visitors.

Four powerful servers situated in three different data centres and spread over different internet connections to national and international internet providers were set up by Hostbasket for the hosting of the site. Hostbasket worked together with parent company Telenet to set up everything.

All applications and websites of our 25000 customers continued working properly thanks to the high capacity of the internet connections and Hostbasket’s solid infrastructure.
