)-- Among the topics to be addressed at the lecture include: the treatment and rights of women according the the Qur'an (the Islamic holy text), the role of Muslim women in modern society, and the history and reasoning behind the hijab (headscarf) that is worn by many Muslim women throughout the world.
Following the lecture, the panel will open itself up for questions and debate by audience members. A lively and thought-provoking discussion is anticipated.
