Chicago Boutique PR Firm Announces Expansion with New Associates

Cascade Communications Welcomes New Associates, Implements New Services for Small Businesses.

Chicago, IL, July 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Many people have flocked to the trend of starting a small business with layoffs and despite the down economy, and they’re looking to generate awareness and grow with public relations. Cascade Communications, a boutique public relations agency founded in 2001, is growing and welcomes two Communications Associates Dara Khautisen and Kathryn Fallucco.

Fortney, a small business public relations expert, says that small businesses aren’t slowing down in 2009, but looking for affordable ways to outsource for growth. The increased demand for Cascade Communications along with the development of other programs to further assist small businesses in achieving PR has brought an opportunity to expand.

“The economy isn’t stopping small businesses from marketing and growing and we’re thrilled to help them realize there dreams of success,” said Fortney. “I always say it’s times like this when small businesses can leap frog over competitors, and they’re doing just that. I’m happy to have found two highly qualified individuals to compliment our efforts.”

Dara Khautisen comes to Cascade with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from DePaul University and has worked as an Employee Relations Assistant with The Warranty Group and Executive Assistant for the Capital H Group. As Communications Specialist, she will work on new business development and research and study projects focusing on small business.

Since March 2009 Kathryn Fallucco has been with Cascade as an intern, having previously interned for Rogers & Cowan in New York and the American Cancer Society in Des Moines, IA. After working on a variety of accounts she was promoted to Communications Specialist and will focus on account services and management and assisting in new program and business development. Fallucco graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University.

Fortney is no stranger to entrepreneurship herself after starting her firm in 2001 after conducting public relations for a variety of Fortune 500 companies. In 2008, she launched “Small Business Daily” (http://smallbizexperts.wordpress.com) with several other experts to provide information, tips and advice to small businesses. Next came SmallBizPRMadeEasy.com, a one-of-a-kind 52-week program for small businesses, startups, entrepreneurs and non-profits looking to learn DIY PR. Next up is a unique program that will connect the media to small businesses in a new way and impactful studies focused on small business.
