Tournament Players Club at Wakefield Plantation Selected for 2010 Tarheel Junior Golf Tour Event

Raleigh, NC, July 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Tarheel Junior Golf Tour will return from it holiday break to open 2010 at Tournament Players' Club at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, NC. The TPC Wakefield Plantation is a Hale Irwin designed golf course that hosts the annual Rex Hospital Open on the Nationwide Tour and is owned and operated by the PGA Tour.

The event is scheduled for January 9-10, 2010. The tournament is part of the Tarheel Golf Foundation's nationally-ranked junior golf tournaments for boys and girls that desire competitive tournament experience and aspire to play collegiate golf.

The Tarheel Junior Golf Tour is a rapidly growing organization. With over 500 members tournament fields full up quickly and often include the top ranked players on a local, state and national level. The 2009-2010 tour season runs from September through May. Several major junior events are part of the schedule. The Robert Trent Jones Junior Championship and the Junior Memorial are two major regonal junior golf championships hosted by the Tarheel Golf Foundation each year.
