Beckstrand Cancer Foundation Logo Selected for LogoLounge Master Library Series

Butterfly Icon Created by Robert Nienhuis Designed to Inspire Hope and Represent Help.

Newport Beach, CA, July 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Beckstrand Cancer Foundation’s butterfly logo, created by Robert Nienhuis of Nien Studios, has been selected for inclusion in LogoLounge’s Master Library book series. Published by Rockport, the Master Library series is comprised of illustrated source books for professional designers and artisans. Its featured logos represent the best design work from around the world.

The Foundation’s logo, the result of a 2008 rebranding campaign, consists of two side-views of butterflies coming together to form one complete, whole butterfly. The weight of the butterfly’s lines is bold and strong, yet the colors are warm and inviting. The earthy, brown wing is illustrated as a stylized B, and the logotype uses a thick bold font. Indicative of the stability, dependability and comforting care the Foundation provides, the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation name is displayed in a strong yet approachable mixed case.

“We are delighted that the Beckstrand butterfly logo, which shows the fullness of life we endeavor to give those impacted by cancer, will be included in the upcoming Master Library volume,” shared Lil Spitzer, Executive Director of Beckstrand Cancer Foundation. “Robert Nienhuis gave us an iconic logo design that successfully works as a beacon of hope and as a promise to cancer patients that we will do everything we can to improve and enhance their quality of life.”

By the authors of LogoLounge, Bill Gardner and Catharine Fishel, Master Library books offer the ultimate collection of logos by category and provide fresh inspiration that designers can use to take a more focused look at core logo applications. About Beckstrand Cancer Foundation
Beckstrand Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1974 by Dr. Grant Beckstrand and a group of doctors specializing in the treatment and care of cancer patients. For more than 35 years, the Foundation’s goal has been to improve and enhance the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. This mission is achieved through an Individual Patient Assistance program in which the Foundation is unique in providing financial assistance, patient advocacy, supportive counseling and practical help to patients in the midst of their cancer treatment and struggling to cope with critical survival needs. While research is imperative to finding a cure, approximately 1.4 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in 2009, and little support is available to assist these victims with day-to-day living and basic needs. This is where Beckstrand Cancer Foundation serves as the missing link.
