North Carolina Theatre Releases The Sound of Music Podcast

Raleigh, NC, July 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Kristin Buie, communications manager of the North Carolina Theatre (www.nctheatre.com), has announced the release of a podcast presenting information about The Sound of Music, a classic musical that will be running Saturday, July 25 – Sunday, August 2 at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, located at 2 E. South St. The Sound of Music is a classic family musical that tells the true story of the von Trapp family at the break of World War II, whose hearts are quickly captured by the high-spirited nun-turned-governess Maria and her love of singing. This production is based on the original 1959 Rogers and Hammerstein musical and is appropriate for children of all ages. In the podcast, Buie provides background information about the musical, information about the cast, showtimes and ticket information.

The production will feature a number of actors from both the Raleigh area and New York City. Tom Galantich, who is most known for his recurring role as Joe Schapell on Law & Order, will start as Captain von Trapp. Maria will be played by Kate Fisher, who has also performed in both the Broadway and National Tour of Les Miserables. Fayetteville native Suzanne Ishee will play Mother Abbess. Suzanne has been in the Broadway productions of The Phantom of the Opera, La Cage Aux Folles and The Wizard of Oz.
