Gayl Sharabi Links Realms of Art and Science in Her Series of Paintings in Metamorphosis at Agora Gallery

For Sharabi, the most gratifying experience is the act of creating. It is as though music plays through her and the brush is the dance. Creating is the most wonderful experience. She views science and art as an expression of each other.

New York, NY, July 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Chelsea’s Agora Gallery announced they will launch an art exhibition consisting of four parts that is scheduled to run from July 21, 2009 through August 11, 2009.

Long captivated by the realms of art and science, mixed media artist Gayl Sharabi links them together with her fascinating series of paintings that examine the repetition and formation of infrastructures. Working with a variety of traditional and non-traditional mediums, Sharabi’s elegantly abstracted paintings, which recall both botanical and cellular imagery, provide a deep look into the structures of cells, recognizing the beautiful patterns that naturally form and coalesce to negate the presence of boundaries. Richly tactile surfaces resonate with a serene and organic color palette, while a dance-like movement injects the works with an undeniable vitality. Imbued with an inherent peacefulness, Sharabi’s works put forth an artistic vision of life at its most basic state. The concepts of micro and macro disappear, dimensions intermingle, and all that remains is the perception of the present.

Born in the United States, Gayl Sharabi lives and works in Israel and holds a Master’s of Science in Microbiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
