Pasadena, TX, July 22, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- TechCorr USA, LLC (www.techcorr.com) announced today that it is now offering a new service line called the “Sludge Profiler”. The Sludge Profiler is specifically used to calculate the amount, location and topology of built up sediment (sludge) in above ground storage tanks. When performing maintenance and inspections on tanks, removal of sludge in the tank cleaning stage is required. If the amount of sludge to be cleaned from a tank is not properly estimated during the budgeting phase, serious time and cost implications can be experienced if more sludge is present than originally calculated. The Sludge Profiler service has been specifically designed to use advanced acoustics to model the sludge to within a +/- 5% accuracy. This is done by the insertion of an acoustic probe into the top of the tank at a few locations depending on the size of the tank. Computer software is then used to stitch together the acoustic findings and provide a 3 dimensional sludge model. This allows the customer to exactly calculate the time, materials and disposal costs or any other ramifications present with sludge settling.
TechCorr’s Advanced Industrial Services Manager, Mr. Floyd A. Baker, is quoted as saying “TechCorr has been working on the provision of this new service line for a number of months now. We are pleased to be able to offer this new service to our customers. When used hand-in-hand with our robotic tank cleaning and inspection services called “In Tank” or our traditional out of service tank services, we can give a customer a very accurate budget to work within. When the Sludge Profiler is used alone, it is an optimal service for customers to profile sludge, associated loss of capacity and removal costs when performing traditional out of service tank work. We now have the technology, equipment, trained individuals and the ability to perform this service around the world.”
