Bob Robinson for State Representative Election Committee Develops Big Picture Economic Strategy

The Bob Robinson for State Representative Election Committee announced that it would release in September what it calls a Big Picture Economic Strategy for house district 71 – Eaton County, Michigan.

Vermontville, MI, July 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Bob Robinson for State Representative Election Committee announced that it would release in September what it calls a Big Picture Economic Strategy for house district 71 – Eaton County, Michigan. Robinson, a Vermontville resident, is running as a candidate for State Representative of Eaton County/Michigan District 71 in 2010.

“We’ve heard it before,” says Robinson. “It happens every election cycle. You can bet every candidate for state representative in 2010 will be saying that we ‘need new jobs and to improve the economy.’ It’s another thing entirely to make it happen. And that’s what people are feeling right now. They want action: Less politics and more action.”

Working with an urban planner, public policy experts, and communications professionals the Bob Robinson for State Representative Committee has developed what it calls a common sense Big Picture Economic Development Strategy for the district which it hopes can be expanded on a state wide level.

“People are feeling the sting of a true economic melt down, throughout the state and district,” said Robinson. “Many are losing homes and jobs. Parents are struggling to pay mortgages, school systems are failing, and college tuition is slipping from our grasp. We’ve got to get a grip and develop a plan with good orderly direction,” said Robinson. “On a state level, that’s not happening now.”

Focus for the economic strategy will be placed on sustainability and cost containment.

“It’s foolish to undertake operations and projects without first knowing that we are able to finish them. Citizens are tired of seeing half finished work and hearing about the ongoing threat of a state government shutdown. Our economic strategy will work to prevent that from happening by adhering to a cost containment model that restricts spending on anything that cannot maintain itself long term.”

The committee plans to have a complete document on its Web site by September 30, 2009. For more information, go to www.district71.com or call (517) 281-8399.
