Merrill Moter Among First in North America to Become Accredited Green Roof Professional

Louisville, KY, July 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- C. Merrill Moter, Principal-in-Charge of Joseph & Joseph Architects, has become an accredited Green Roof Professional (GRP). Moter took the inaugural test, which was offered in June, placing him among the first group of GRPs in North America. He is the only Kentucky-based architect to complete the requirements.

The accreditation program is provided through Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC), the North American Green Roof Industry Association, and the exam was given during the 7th Annual International Greening Rooftops for Sustainable Communities Conference in Atlanta, GA hosted by GRHC.

130 Conference Delegates were the first to complete the exam, which covered the key areas of knowledge expected of a Green Roof Professional and encompassed five areas of concentration including pre-design, design, contract management, quality assurance and support and maintenance. GRP accreditation will verify the designated GRP has attained a level of the interdisciplinary knowledge needed in the design, installation and maintenance of green roof systems.

Joseph & Joseph is Kentucky's oldest continually operating architectural firm. As Principal-in-Charge of Joseph & Joseph’s architectural design, Moter is responsible for overall management of various projects from award of a commission until completion of construction. The firm is currently working on several green roof projects.
