Flamenco Holidays Announce a New Destination for Dance and Guitar Holiday Courses in Andalucia, Spain

London, United Kingdom, July 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Like the salesman taking refrigerators to the Eskimos, Cherry Jaffer has been taking Flamenco to southern Spain for the past few years.

Cherry, aged 67 from Brasted, Kent (UK) runs Flamenco Holidays, which operates flamenco dance and guitar holiday courses in Andalucia.

Today she is announcing the launch of a new course in collaboration with the exciting new Flamenco Centre at Almodóvar del Rio, Córdoba. The first trip will be for the week of 4th-11th October 2009, but future courses can be arranged at any time of the year (for any group size) by request. For groups with a minimum 10 students, prices can be drastically reduced.

The new course builds on the success of courses in Alhaurin el Grande and Mijas, near Malaga, started over 10 years ago when, as a keen student of Flamenco dancing, she attended and enjoyed a commercially organized dance holiday in Spain. When the tour company folded, fellow students were disappointed and Cherry agreed to try to organize a Flamenco Holiday herself.

The first, in Mijas, proved hugely popular. Since then, the holiday experience has developed; flamenco guitar courses have been added to the programme and the students have the opportunity to perform in public to local Spanish audiences, and have appeared on local Spanish television several times.

The annual week in Alhaurin el Grande, held in May to coincide with the town’s Feria Week, is very special to all who attend. Because of Cherry’s strong links with the local community (helped by her fluent Spanish), dance performances by the Flamenco Holiday students are now expected and welcomed as part of the town’s Feria events.

Many students return each year to demonstrate their new and developing skills and the example of these foreigners dancing flamenco in their town has inspired the local ladies, many of whom now attend classes themselves.

Unlike many organizations which offer Flamenco courses in Spain, Cherry’s holidays always include flights, transfers, accommodation and tuition in the price, backed with the added security of ATOL membership. This makes it very easy for students travelling alone, who might be nervous about making independent arrangements. The holidays are suitable for Flamenco Dance or Guitar students of all levels and beginners are welcome.
