SnortingPig Promotions Picks Out the Quotes as a New Band to Watch for 2009

SnortingPig Promotions positions The Quotes as a band to watch as new EP, Monte Rosa, draws two sell-out crowds in Reading, UK.

Reading, United Kingdom, July 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- According to an independent music critic at SnortingPig Promotions, Friday 24th July 2009 saw the launch of Monte Rosa, a 5-track EP which follows on the back of The Quotes 2008 debut album. On the night, the momentum was built even before the band took to the stage with an excellent local support band called Vices and then a large screen video showing a recording of The Quotes clowning around to Down The Line, a cracking new track and potential single from their EP which could see them on the road to bigger things. Of course, the sell-out crowd had to wait right through to the end of the normal set to hear the live version of the same song, but what a wait it was. "Putting it quite simply, on Friday night, The Quotes rocked Reading...from the beginning to the end, they just simply rocked", said David Shimell, from SnortingPig Promotions. Lead singer Ben Smith had so much energy and put on a great show ensuring no one left disappointed. Guitarists James Ashby and Liam Barnes looked like they were having the night of their lives all underpinned by Josh Bacon thumping the skins in perfect time behind them. Shimell added “No one would have known that they had an outdoor festival to do just 15 hours later followed by a 2nd sell-out night at the same Reading venue straight afterwards; it is unusual to find a bunch of teenagers so dedicated and professional”.

On the back of their self-titled debut album launched less than one year ago, which contained a fantastic track called Clowns and Superstars, the launch of their new EP, Monte Rosa, signals one thing: The Quotes are certainly no Clowns but only time will tell whether their management team can come up with what it takes to make the international Superstars.

About The Quotes
The Quotes first formed in late 2006, bringing to the table an incomparably fresh sound teamed with catchy lyrics and a collaboration of vocals. They gained a massive local fan base and continue to grow in both popularity and talent. The Quotes have recently supported The Charlatans, Goldie Lookin’ Chain and Hockey and with a range of self-described influences, from The Beatles and The Who to the more recent Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kings of Leon, The Quotes certainly have an original sound that fuses melodic yet snappy music with a variation of vocals, compelling the crowd to join in. Their return from a Northern Italy tour and success in winning the fans vote in the Road to V competition speaks for itself, clearly depicting the talent that was simply four individuals coming together - and is now, The Quotes.
