Auckland, New Zealand, August 05, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Kiwi Tax Returns and its brother company Student Tax Returns are two tax agencies quickly making a mark throughout New Zealand. Three young kiwi entrepreneurs, Jesse Wilkinson (22), Ash Fogelberg (22) and Josh Dry (22) came up with the idea in a bid to create residual income from a business which would thrive in the recession. They realized that most Kiwis weren't aware that they are owed tax returns, and so miss out on claiming what can sometimes be thousands of dollars, all of which is wiped after five years.
Both companies are web based, and applications made online are transferred to the firms database instantly. An online database means that employees and partners can work from different parts of the country or the world on the same, continuously updated information.
Clients information is sent securely from the database to the hands of chartered accountants from GSM Accountancy, a Dunedin and Queenstown based firm. Returns then get calculated and money is deposited promptly into the clients bank account. The average fee of $51 is modest compared to a lot of other New Zealand agencies who charge over 25% of the total return.
The two companies are streamlined to work in an almost entirely automated fashion, removing the need for regular administrative work. The custom-built online platform means the remainder of daily tasks can be outsourced to India. This business model gives Kiwi Tax Returns a low operating cost, and means that the owners can spend their time on more important tasks such as (drinking and smoking and snowboarding) marketing and promotions.
The brother companies use an effective affiliate marketing program open to all New Zealanders. Members are able to sign up for free and instantly start promoting both Student and Kiwi Tax Returns in any way they please, receiving a share of the fees for anyone that they refer who receives a return.
The recession is effecting Kiwis across the country, yet most people simply aren't aware that the IRD has hundreds of millions of dollars of unclaimed tax returns - some of which is probably theirs. Kiwi Tax Returns offers a simple and cheap way for New Zealanders to claim their tax returns, or supplement their income by helping others claim theirs.
"Its really flexible and saves money operating on an online, open source platform. We have also found ways to save time and run automatically by outsourcing our admin work. The best thing about our service is the fact that filing a return couldn't be more simple, we really take the hassle out of it." - Jesse Wilkinson
"It's a pretty obvious choice for most Kiwi's - if they sign up with us there's an 80% chance that they will receive several hundred dollars into their bank account. It's kind of like a lotto ticket, except you almost always win. And we don't charge the earth for it either, because we've figured out how to automate a lot of the process. In fact, pretty much the only thing done by a person is the preparation and filing of tax returns, and that's done by a chartered accountant." - Ash Fogelberg
