Perrine Company Keeps It 'Fresh,' Creative Thinking in a Changing Landscape

Heather Shreve, owner of The Perrine Co., is adapting to the new market by shifting focus to a smaller version of two signature products. Custom art has been the mainstay of The Perrine Co. since 1987 and continues to remain flexible in a changing economic environment by using creative marketing.

Hampstead, MD, August 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Maryland resident and Baltimore County native; Heather Shreve, owner and founder of The Perrine Co., Inc., has announced an incredible event for the month of August, 2009. Heather is offering two of her custom products at lower prices to make it affordable to people who love their pets and homes. Normally her realistic pet portraits go for hundreds of dollars, and her house portraits –in the thousands. But for August only, Heather is offering the same quality in a smaller watercolor version- a $99.00 pet portrait, and a $199.00 house portrait.

This low pricing has also made it possible for Heather’s Art4giving charitable contributions to expand. For the past several years now, Heather has been giving a $250.00 certificates (for reg. priced house portraits) to any, and all, charities for their silent auctions. Now, with the lower price point for this event, it allows a $50.00 certificate to go much farther.

Heather employs an interesting technique that allows her to handle all of these portraits, one she has developed over a 30 year career in painting. Heather paints them upside down. Yes, for accuracy she draws them out and then turns them around. This allows her to switch over to her right brain to see the outlines of the subject to make sure it matches the photo. It is a very useful technique for speed and avoiding burn-out.

Besides children, pets and houses are two of the basic threads woven into the fabric of life, and this is a great way to commemorate both in these challenging economic times. Now, more than ever, Heather believes it is time to add ‘fresh color’ to people’s lives and focus on what is important. Fortune’s will ebb and flow, but capturing a few treasured memories in a painting is priceless…..especially in this changing landscape.
