Replacing Floodlights at Anfield with Help from Nationwide Platforms

Lutterworth, United Kingdom, August 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The UK’s largest powered access provider, Nationwide Platforms, was recently called upon by electrical contractors, D&A Systems, to facilitate maintenance work at Anfield, the home of Liverpool Football Club. After a site survey, the JLG 800AJ boom was identified to replace the lower level floodlights, and re-lamp the higher level floodlights of the main stand.

Nationwide Platforms, part of Lavendon Access Services, recommended the 800AJ boom due to its 26 metres of working height, and importantly its 16 metres of horizontal outreach – ideal for accessing stadia roof areas up and over rows of seats. The 4 wheel drive diesel powered machine offers further versatility, with continuous rotation allowing operators to move precisely and time effectively to different lighting areas within the stand.

Mark Evans Contracts Manager for D&A Systems Ltd commented: “As electrical engineering contractors, D&A Systems uses powered access for a plethora of applications including CCTV installations, Public Address (PA) systems and of course Stadia floodlighting projects; and Nationwide Platforms supplied us with the ideal machine for our work at Liverpool Football Club. Since completing the Main Stand floodlighting upgrades for Liverpool FC, we have secured repeat business with our client, providing engineers to undertake Periodic Inspection Reporting for the various electrical installations within the stadium’s Main and Centenary Stands, and will hopefully be continuing our excellent working relationship with Nationwide Platforms.”

Liverpool F.C. has played at Anfield since its formation in 1892, and plans to move to a new stadium in Stanley Park which was due to be completed by 2011, but has been put on hold until economic conditions improve. Having won more trophies than any other English club, the ‘Reds’ are looking forward to what will hopefully be another successful season.
