ifpetscouldtype.com Launches Feed-a-Pet Program to Help Restock Shelves of Pet Food Banks Nationwide

Online pet destination partners with pet food banks and pantries around the country to provide emergency pet food aid to needy pet loving families.

Chicago, IL, August 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- ifpetscouldtype.com, an online community devoted to promoting the health and happiness of all pets, today announced the launch of a Feed-a-Pet Program designed to help restock the shelves of pet food pantries and pet food banks around the country.

In the first phase of the program, ifpetscouldtype.com will donate $1.00 for each of the first 500 new ifpetscouldtype.com user registrations to the Lucky Paws Foundation Pet Food Program in Tracy, California, the first non-profit recipient of the program.

To support the Feed-a-Pet Program, pet lovers only need to visit the ifpetscouldtype.com website, complete a profile and add a picture of their favorite pet. The funds will be used to help the Lucky Paws Foundation provide needed pet food to resource strapped pet loving families during these tough economic times.

“We hear the sad stories everyday about the challenges facing pet loving families all over the country in feeding and keeping their pets during these tough times,” indicated Randy Gordon, Founder of ifpetscouldtype.com. “We wanted to help these families by partnering with the Lucky Paws Foundation to provide more emergency pet food aid, so families, in their communities, stand a better chance to keep and provide for their beloved pets.”

“We are so pleased that ifpetscouldtype.com wants to help our pet food pantry program and help us get pet food to those in need”, indicated Jeannie Duckworth, director, Lucky Paws Foundation. “We feed over 150 pets each week ranging from dogs, cats, birds and hamsters - to fish, hermit crabs, chickens and rabbits. These funds will help us provide food for many pets with loving families that are having a difficult time making ends meet, so they have the best chance to stay together.”

This is just the first step in the Feed-a-Pet Program effort by ifpetscouldtype.com says Gordon. “Our goal is to partner with pet food pantries and food banks around the country to help provide for as many pet loving families in their communities as possible,” indicated Gordon. “We will be announcing more assistance to pet food pantries in other cities in the coming weeks.”
