Myocardium Technologies Launches New Heart Rate Variability Recording System

Microcardiography Recording System Acquires Heart Rate Variability Information along with Cardiac Micropotentials.

Fremont, CA, August 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Myocardium Technologies, USA, today announced the launch of its Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Recorder in the United States. Earlier, the company launched its precision cardiac micropotentials recording system. The MTHRVx Recorder is part of the MTECGx product series based on the company's precision non-invasive technologies that acquire cardiac signals in microvolts of resolution at the least. The technologies are the result of the company's extensive research on arrhythmogenesis, cardiac disease causing mechanisms, the substrates that sustain them, and factors that directly or indirectly impact the heart.

Heart Rate Variability analysis is a tool to identify patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death. Patients who are at a high risk for sudden cardiac death have decreased HRV compared to healthy individuals. Such decreased HRV is also a non-invasive indicator of cardiac mortality after acute myocardial infarction. The MTHRVx Recorder features continuous recording of HRV data as well as multiple channels of cardiac micropotentials. The Recorder software provides simultaneous capture, display, and prints of 8 cardiac channels and HRV trend for subsequent analysis.

"Recording HRV along with multiple channels of cardiac micropotentials non-invasively is another significant achievement for us in commercializing our technologies", said Suresh Narayanaswamy, CEO and chief scientist of Myocardium Technologies. "The launch of the MTHRVx Recorder allows the physician to track parasympathetic and sympathetic influences of the autonomic nervous system in conjunction with risk stratification for sudden cardiac death. The MTECGx Microcardiography System along with the MTHRVx Recorder will greatly benefit the medical centers in their research while enhancing patient care."

A pioneer in advanced, non-invasive cardiology products, Myocardium Technologies team includes original contributors of high resolution electrocardiography and electrophysiology. With research and development dating back to 1996, the company intensified its efforts to commercialize its technologies over the past few years. In addition to innovative cardiology products, the company provides product customizations as a service to customers. The MTHRVx Recorder is commercially available only to medical centers and hospitals for research purposes.
