Veteran Travel Writers Going to the Dogs

Longtime travel writers Paris Permenter and John Bigley say their work has literally gone to the dogs thanks to a new dog travel section in DogTipper.com.

Cedar Park, TX, August 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Veteran travel writers Paris Permenter and John Bigley—the authors of over two dozen published guidebooks—say their work is now going to the dogs.

A husband-wife team, Paris and John now edit DogTipper.com, a site featuring tips for dog lovers, written by dog lovers. With advice ranging from making chew-proof dog beds to selecting non-traditional no-snag dog tags, DogTipper.com is aimed at enriching every aspect of a dog’s life.

Recently, the world travelers, whose guides for Fodor’s, Michelin and other publishers have taken readers from Cyprus to the Caribbean, have launched a dog-oriented travel section on DogTipper. “Travel was a very natural next step for us and DogTipper,” says Paris Permenter. “After all, it combines two of our big loves—travel and dogs.”

The new travel section features special packages at dog-friendly hotels as well as information on dog-oriented festivals. “Dog-centric festivals have boomed in popularity the last five years,” notes John Bigley. “While some festivals have always welcomed dogs to accompany their people, these dog festivals practically welcome people to accompany their dogs. These festival days are filled with dog events, from dog parades and walks to tail-wagging contests, costume contests, and even readings from pet psychics.”

Other special sections on DogTipper.com cover celebrity canines, dog news, product reviews, dog of the day, dog movies and more.
