Orange Juice Acquires Democratic Blogger Paul Lucas

Santa Ana, CA, August 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Orange Juice Blog, which is the dominant political blog in Orange County, has acquired a new Democratic blogger, former Assembly candidate Paul Lucas.

Lucas ran for the 68th Assembly District in 2006, and for the Garden Grove City Council in 2008. He is a past member of the Democratic Party of Orange County’s Central Committee and the California Democratic Party’s Central Committee.

Lucas will be contributing a weekly column entitled “The Jannie Report,” which will examine with in-depth coverage the latest shenanigans of the so-called “Jannies,” which are Democrats who support Republican Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen.

The first “Jannie Report” column will debut on Monday, August 24.

“Paul Lucas will bring years of experience in the Democratic Party of Orange County to the Orange Juice,” said Orange Juice editor Art Pedroza, “we are all very excited and are looking forward to his first column.”

“It will be great to have another pro-labor, pro-LGBT blogger, who is a truly progressive Democrat, on board,” said Santa Ana Planning Commissioner Sean Mill, who also blogs at the Orange Juice.

The Orange Juice debuted in 2003, as Orange County’s first political blog. It was founded by Art Pedroza, who served as the Republican Party of Orange County’s inaugural Hispanic Outreach Director from 1996 to 1998. Pedroza today is a member of the Libertarian Party.

The Orange Juice blog averages over 40,000 visits and over 80,000 page views a month. It is a bipartisan political blog with Democratic, Republican and independent bloggers.
