From Historic Plantation House to Luxury Country Inn, the Inn at Willow Grove Gets a 21st Century Facelift

With new owners, a new name and a new look, the historic Inn at Willow Grove to get a new life as a high-end vacation destination, opening March 2010.

Orange, VA, August 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Now under new ownership, the Inn at Willow Grove, located in Orange, Virginia, is currently undergoing a massive renovation to prepare for its grand opening in March, 2010.

After twenty-two years operating as an inn, the historic plantation house called Willow Grove, which dates back to 1778, changed ownership in February 2009. New owners David and Charlene Scibal began an extensive renovation project to update and upgrade what is now the Inn at Willow Grove. “The structure was falling apart at the seams,” says Mr. Scibal. “We wanted to preserve the historic character of this beautiful Virginia landmark while incorporating the comforts and amenities of the 21st century.” Adds Mrs. Scibal: “Our goal is to give Willow Grove new life as a beautiful and luxurious country inn that is entirely focused the comfort and satisfaction of our guests.”

Included in the renovation is a complete overhaul of all rooms and facilities to incorporate new plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems as well as completely new furnishings and finishes. Additionally, a new kitchen addition has been added to service a 60-seat restaurant and tavern, and the grounds of the 40-acre property are being reworked to include new ponds, creeks and walled gardens that capture stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. While the renovation focuses on updating and modernizing the Inn at Willow Grove, great care has been taken to preserve the historic character of this beloved Virginia landmark, which is a Virginia Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

With 14 luxurious rooms and suites, the Inn at Willow Grove will be transformed into a vacation destination that can accommodate vacationers, weddings, special events and even corporate retreats. As Mrs. Scibal says, “We are thrilled with the progress of this renovation project, and we can’t wait for the new era of the Inn at Willow Grove to begin next spring!”
