Franklin, TN, August 21, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Galain Solutions, LLC, a government markets consulting firm, today announced the release of a new report entitled “The Impact of State Fiscal Stabilization Funds on Public Safety.” This report highlights where states intend to dedicate Recovery Act “Government Services” funds to public safety. In all, more than $2.5 billion will flow into the public safety sector through this funding mechanism.
The State Fiscal Stabilization Fund (SFSF), a $53.6 billion component of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is managed by the Department of Education and is designed to help stabilize state and local government budgets to avoid reductions in education and other essential public services. The law states that 18.2% of this fund (or $9.8 billion) may be spent at the governor’s discretion, which includes potential expenditures for public safety—the focus of this report.
“Many in public safety are still unaware of the dollar impact state stabilization funds can have,” said Rick Wimberly, President of Galain. “This paper will provide revealing information about the magnitude of these funds.”
“This new report provides a unique analysis of state grant applications,” said Lorin Bristow, Partner in Galain. “Its conclusions are valuable to both public safety agencies, and to vendors needing information about this significant funding source.”
The report is available at no charge on Galain Solutions website:
