Artspace to Host Gallery Walk and Reception for Raleigh First Friday Event

Raleigh, NC, September 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mary Poole, executive director of Artspace (www.artspacenc.org), has announced that the art center is kicking off the fall season with a special evening during Raleigh’s monthly First Friday Gallery Walk Sept. 4 from 6-10 p.m. at Artspace, located at 201 E. Davie St. Gallery Walks are free and open to the public. The event will feature several art exhibitions, including “The Conquerors,” featuring the work of five Lowbrow artists never before shown in North Carolina; “Reconsidered: Summer Artists-In-Residence Program, 1999-2008,” a show by Susan Martin; and a close-of-residency exhibition from Megan Sullivan. In conjunction with the exhibition, Artspace will host a LoPop Shop, featuring handmade items by local artists working in the LoPop style, including shirts, posters, magazines and original works. Artspace will host an after party in Gallery 2 from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. with art, music, dancing and a cash bar. Tickets for the after party are $5 each.
