Steve Trimboli: Long Island’s Own Real Dog Savior

Steve “The Pit” Trimboli, as his companions call him, has dedicatedly rescued hundreds of Pit Bulls over the years. Freeport, NY, September 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Dogs have always been known to serve man, but how often is it heard that man takes a risk to show loyalty to dog? Steve “The Pit” Trimboli, as his companions call him, has dedicatedly rescued hundreds of Pit Bulls over the years. Using his own innovative and unconventional tactics, he has liberated these dogs from neglectful owners who have merely kept the dogs as status symbols, for abuse, for excessive breeding, and in some cases even for dog fighting.

Steve, now in his thirties and a devoted family man, has housed up to a dozen pit bulls of his own and has the passion and dedication to talk to anyone about his cause. Traveling to predominately minority neighborhoods, Steve Trimboli combs the area for the abused dogs and relocates potential adoptees to either a shelter or better yet, a home. Visiting grade schools is another opportunity that Steve has in order to alert the children of the ongoing abuse and neglect of this specific breed of dog. He describes that the reasoning behind this is to not only make the children aware, but to also prevent them from becoming future neglectful owners and creating more aggressive dogs.

Steve Trimboli’s efforts in saving the maltreated pit bulls has been recognized and featured in a four-page Newsday article authored by Denise Flaim. In the article Steve explains that the aggressive reputations that the public identifies the breed with is a misconception. He describes the Pit Bull breed as having ability and strength beyond compare and that unless an owner goes out of their way to turn one of these dogs into a weapon they are as stable minded as any other breed of dog. In the article, Steve also acknowledges his distaste of how common it is that young men in these neighborhoods excessively breed the dogs and then “get bored and throw them away”. Frequently he can be spotted addressing these young men, dissuading them of the mistreatment of the dogs, and sometimes ending up with the sick and malnourished pups and bringing them to a local shelter. Respecting the pit bull personality and never completely letting his guard down, Steve explains with emotion how great of a pet the pit bull can be and he has placed enough in homes to prove it.

Steve Trimboli, a man of abundant skill and a titanic heart, is well known within his community. He works diligently at his own auto repair shop, specializing in Mercedes Benz and other European cars. The shop is called Pit Bull Motors Inc., named after the cause he fights for, and is located in Freeport, NY. Pit Bull Motors Inc. is a clean and honest auto repair shop in which Steve had built from the ground up from a preexisting, small garage. Steve is currently looking for experienced mechanics to work at the shop. If interested the ad and reply address can be found on Craigslist. Along with repairing cars, racing cars at the Riverhead Motor Speedway (which he will be #3 in the starting line up this Sunday September 6, 2009), and high-performance boating, Steve Trimboli also has the time to help out the less fortunate children in his community by repairing and gifting used bicycles to them. Steve has also entertained the community by performing standup comedy at numerous comedy clubs.

The termination of pit bull abuse and neglect is an ambition that Steve is working industriously to accomplish. He is currently working on a project that he hopes will both bring about the awareness of such abuse and reform the opinions that the public has on the Pit Bull breed. On August 19, 2009 Steve Trimboli and Tito Batista, president of Black Rose Productions Inc., met with a FOX independent producer to discuss the necessary steps in the production and licensing for a possible reality series with one of the major networks. The reality series would be an effort to show the public what he does on a daily basis to save these pups. Steve “The Pit” is also to be visiting a Freeport public library in the near future in order to educate children of the ongoing dilemma and to hopefully warm their hearts with Chico, Steve’s ninety-five pound pit, and his lovable personality.

It is a responsibility to act against the abuse of a breed of dog that Steve Trimboli has decided to take on. Admitting that it can be rough with one man on the job, Steve also admits the joy he gets from saving an animal with a bad reputation that he believes is worth saving.
