)-- MD-IT, the nation’s leading provider of medical documentation to ambulatory clinics and physician offices, announced today that they have acquired Pikes Peak Transco, Inc. of Colorado Springs, CO. Pikes Peak Transco co-owner Charlene Brown will join MD-IT as a Managing Director. The move underscores MD-IT’s commitment to make it easy and affordable for medical service providers to create, store and share clinical notes electronically, thereby ultimately improving patient care.
“As an owner of a small company, you don’t have the same technological advances at your disposal. With MD-IT we now have access to medical documentation technology that can help improve the quality of care,” said Brown. “I think we can help so many physician offices that otherwise wouldn’t be able to access and share patient information electronically.”
As Managing Director of MD-IT Colorado Springs, Brown serves a diverse client base of over 700 physicians including hospitals in California and physician clinics and surgery centers in Southern Colorado.
“We welcome her experience in California, which is a new geographical area for us,” said MD-IT President and CEO Tom Carson. “It’s exciting to have a person of Char’s caliber join our team. She is very engaged in the industry and her dedication to customer service and attention to detail will be a big part of our continued success.”
MD‑IT is the largest company serving physician offices and ambulatory clinics nationwide, a market estimated at $7 billion of the $10 billion spent annually on medical documentation services in the US. Hospitals account for the remaining $3 billion. MD-IT’s medical documentation software and service enables physicians to spend more time with patients and family, and less time on the paperwork required to document patient visits.
