The company uses the Panasonic Varicam (F version) high-definition camcorder that records 720p images at frame rates ranging from 4 to 60 per second. The camera approximates a wide range of film stocks and permits “over-cranking” and “under-cranking” for smooth fast-and slow motion playback. Unlike film that has to be developed before results are seen, one can simply rewind the video tape and review footage immediately. This eliminates the need to schedule extra days and crew expense required for film reshoots... saving time and minimizing expense. The company also utilizes the Sony HDW-730 camcorder that boasts 1080i resolution at 24p and 60i playback.
