San Diego Professionals Against Cancer Extends Applications Period for 2009 Funding Requests to Friday, Sept. 30

Nonprofit hosts annual San Diego Festival of Beer to provide funding support to local cancer charities and organizations.

San Diego, CA, September 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC) announces the 2009 call for funding applications. SDPAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for cancer research, patient treatment and services through their annual San Diego Festival of Beer held each September in downtown San Diego.

Last year’s festival raised a record-breaking $85,000, which is now tapped to be awarded to local cancer charities. SDPAC funding is earmarked for materials or equipment that may be out of the reach of small budgets or may not apply to government-sponsored research granting agencies. Local organizations involved in cancer research or assistance services are eligible to apply.

All funds must be applied to the one time purchase of these items and must not be used for up-keep, contracts or salary. To download the 2009 funding application, go to www.sdpac.org. The deadline for all submissions is Friday, Sept. 30 and awards will be announced November 30.
