San Diego, CA, September 16, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC) announces the 2009 call for funding applications. SDPAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for cancer research, patient treatment and services through their annual San Diego Festival of Beer held each September in downtown San Diego.
Last year’s festival raised a record-breaking $85,000, which is now tapped to be awarded to local cancer charities. SDPAC funding is earmarked for materials or equipment that may be out of the reach of small budgets or may not apply to government-sponsored research granting agencies. Local organizations involved in cancer research or assistance services are eligible to apply.
All funds must be applied to the one time purchase of these items and must not be used for up-keep, contracts or salary. To download the 2009 funding application, go to www.sdpac.org. The deadline for all submissions is Friday, Sept. 30 and awards will be announced November 30.
About the San Diego Festival of Beer
The 15th annual San Diego Festival of Beer returns to downtown San Diego on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 6pm – 11pm. We are expanding the festival this year to provide more space, more variety, and even more donations for local area cancer-fighting causes. The Festival of Beer charity event is the oldest and largest beer tasting in all of San Diego. This year Festival-goers can choose from 120 microbrews from 65 breweries. The 100% volunteer-driven Festival is produced by San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC) – a nonprofit organization dedicated to generating monies for cancer research, patient treatment, and services.
