2009 International Photography Awards (IPA) Awards Juan Mullerat with a 1st Place and an Honorary Mention on Different Categories

The International Photography Awards Competition (IPA) awarded Juan Mullerat, an architect and urbanist who currently resides in Miami, Florida, the 1st place in Special - Industrial category for the entry "nuclear dawn" and an Honorable Mention in Architecture - Cityscapes category for the winning entry "reflected highlights" at their 2009 Competition.

Miami, FL, September 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Juan Mullerat is an architect and urban designer with over ten years of experience in design, with several highly respected firms. A native of Spain, Mullerat studied in England and the US, completing dual Master degrees in Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Miami. Mullerat has received awards and published works in both urban design and photography. This dual interest provides critical and novel insight and understanding of the man-made and natural environments, enabling him to uniquely visualize and create sophisticated and refined designs that are sensible and clear in their composition.

A member of the APA, NCI and CNU, Mullerat has worked on numerous projects around the world including North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has lead both private and public workshops that have resulted in award winning projects at different scales such as urban spaces, like the winning design for Hearst Tower Plaza in Charlotte NC, large tracts like the acclaimed Park Lane Design in Canada, the ‘Al Mawj’ (‘The Wave’) Master Plan in Oman, and the Hertfordshire 2021 Plan, recipient of the 2009 CNU Charter Award for Regional Planning.

With work published in several countries, Mullerat has been a guest lecturer in a number of universities. His work strives to create and capture the essence of places that transcend trends and value culture. It is Mullerat’s belief that a society can be understood by the nature of its public spaces. "It is in our shared spaces where our cultural DNA is shaped, and our collective identity evolves; it is in those places were we become part of something larger than ourselves. By creating them and capturing the life within them, we induce and become witnesses of our evolution as people."
