Portland, OR, September 19, 2009 --( Streaming live on the Voice America Network ( on Wednesday, September 23 at 2 p.m. Pacific time/5 p.m. Eastern time, on her show "Why Shamanism Now?", shaman and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt talks about what she’s learned after performing hundreds of soul retrievals yearly since completing her training with Sandra Ingerman, a previous guest on this show, nearly 20 years ago. In 1991, Ingerman released Soul Retrieval: Mending the Fragmented Self. In this beautiful, easy to read book, Ingerman rebirthed the shamanic art of soul retrieval in contemporary times.

In this episode of “Why Shamanism Now? A Practical Path to Authenticity” titled “Soul Retrieval and Its Place in Modern Healing”, Pratt shares that there are many tales to tell, not only of the power of soul retrieval healing, but of the joys and the challenges that come after. According to Pratt, the first challenge is how to reintegrate with parts of ourselves which have been gone for decades or see the world as a child. The lasting challenge is how to live in our world – a world that asks you to be small and fit in -- when we are filled with emotions, passions, and wellbeing that are our birthright. Pratt will bust some myths about soul retrieval, answer frequently asked questions, and share how soul retrieval fits into the modern understanding of illness and healing. Listeners will have the opportunity to delve deeply into these healing waters.
