Portable CUDA Development Systems and High-Density Rack-mount Servers from NextComputing at GPU Technology Conference

NextComputing, manufacturer of portable and small form-factor workstations and servers, will be exhibiting solutions next week at the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference. They will have their own booth and will also be on display with partners at MotionDSP and PNY Technologies, Inc.

Nashua, NH, September 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- NextComputing, manufacturer of portable and small form-factor workstations and servers, will demonstrate its solutions for NVIDIA® CUDA™ developers at the GPU Technology Conference, September 30th through Oct 2nd, at The Fairmont Hotel, San Jose, CA. The CUDA parallel computing architecture enables NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs) to help solve the world’s most complex computational problems in a fraction of the time taken by CPUs.

NextComputing’s powerful, yet portable NextDimension systems offer true workstation class computing in a package the size of a briefcase. Developers of GPU-accelerated applications utilizing NVIDIA’s CUDA parallel computing architecture can take advantage of one or more Quadro® GPUs in a portable NextDimension system to create a portable CUDA development system. Portable systems such as these are ideal for developers needing to collaborate among teams in various settings, or who need to demonstrate their applications to key stakeholders in other locations. In addition, if the software itself must be deployed by an end-user, NextDimension systems provide a field-ready solution to run GPU-intensive applications from any location.

“NextComputing’s portable systems are extremely innovative solutions for CUDA developers,” said Jeff Brown, general manager, Professional Solutions Group, NVIDIA. “These systems deliver the remarkable power of an NVIDIA Quadro GPU-powered workstation to those who require the flexibility to create, test and run demanding applications anytime, anywhere.”

NextComputing will have its NextDimension Evo HD portable workstation showing in its own booth, and has partnered with fellow exhibitor and NVIDIA development partner MotionDSP to show their GPU-accelerated Ikena Live video enhancement software on the system.

“We’ve partnered with NextComputing to demonstrate the capabilities of our Ikena Live software on a portable solution. We believe that mobility at this level of GPU performance will be of significant benefit a diverse set of our existing and target government customers” said Sean Varah, CEO MotionDSP.

NextComputing will also demonstrate its products at the PNY Pavilion, hosted by PNY Technologies, Inc.

“At the PNY booth, Next Computing will demonstrate how it delivers portable high performance workstation graphics into markets requiring breakthrough levels of performance such as oil & gas, military and visualization applications" said Jeff Medeiros, Director of Marketing, PNY Technologies.

NextComputing will also discuss its latest announcement, the NextStream high-density throughput computing server. The NextStream combines high processor density, GPU capability, open-standards I/O, and integrated networking into a 2U rack server, providing a unique platform for high-throughput computing challenges.
