Jon Haegele Awarded Most Popular Driver at Bridgeport Speedway

Hatboro, PA, September 20, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Jon Haegele drives the 61 Jerry Simons Builders GM Sportsman car at Bridgeport Speedway.  He is currently Second in points at the 5/8 mile Dirtt rack.

Last Saturday night, Jon Haegele was awarded Most Popular Sportsman Driver at Bridgeport Speedway. Over 2200 votes were cast, 115 being from fellow drivers at the track. This award was given out in four different classes: Sprint cars, Modifieds, Outlaw Stocks and Sportsman, combining Crate 1 and 2 engine classes. 

Jon Haegele, who put the Jerry Simons Builders car, #61, into victory lane on September 9, is currently second in points and has another win on May 6 this year at Bridgeport Speedway. 

Haegele is in his sophomore year running GM Sportsman series on the fastest 5/8 mile in the Northeast, located in New Jersey. This year’s 27 week season, Jon Haegele has kept a consistent presence in the top five, giving some veteran drivers a run for their money. The fans loved cheering for the 61 car this year, making him a clear cut winner for Most Popular Driver Award.
