Judge Geary Kull Receives High Ratings from Bar Associations in Bid for Circuit Court Judge in the 9th Subcircuit

Evanston, IL, October 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On July 19, Judge Geary Kull announced his intent to run for election to the office of Judge of the 9th Subcircuit of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Judge Kull currently sits on the bench after being appointed to the court this past May by Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas Fitzgerald. The Chicago Bar Association has given Judge Kull its highest rating of “Highly Qualified,” and the Women’s Bar Association, the Decalogue Society of Lawyers, and the Puerto Rican Bar Association have all rated Judge Kull as “Highly Recommended.”

Geary Kull was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1974 after graduating from John Marshall Law School in that same year. Over the past 35 years, Kull has focused on criminal law and civil rights law, first as a Cook County Public Defender, serving on the Elite Murder Task Force. After leaving the Public Defender office, Kull continued in private practice as a criminal trial attorney and Certified Lead Council of The Capital Litigation Bar.

In a speech given July 19 in which he endorsed Judge Kull, retired judge David Erickson stated, “Geary is the ‘real deal.’ A person with tons of experience, excellent legal knowledge, and the respect of his peers.”
