In celebration of the creative process, eight members of the Solana Beach Art Association will showcase their recent fine art work–and the inspirational spark that led to their work–in their annual prestigious art show in Solana Beach.
Members of the public and the media are invited to the show’s reception on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the City Hall Gallery, 635 South Highway 101 in Solana Beach. The gala opening, with complimentary refreshments, is from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm and the exhibition will run until November 16, 2009.
The exhibition showcases the work of professional local artists, who are representative of the association members: Christie Beniston, Carol Beth Rodriguez, Diane Y. Welch, Amber Irwin, Bonnie Hineline Kempner, Gregory J. Balogh, Beverly Weber-Fow, and Yanina Adler.
The Solana Beach Art Association (SBAA) was founded in 2008 by four Solana Beach based professional artists: Christie Beniston, Amber Irwin, Carol Beth Rodriguez and Diane Y. Welch. Two famed world class artists are proud to be honorary members of the SBAA: Del Mar based famed fashion icon, Zandra Rhodes, and Carmel Valley based world renowned, conceptual artist, Eleanor Antin.
The mission of the Association is: “to foster high standards of aesthetics and craftsmanship, to promote art and art appreciation in the community, and to develop the professional efforts of its members.” The Association also seeks to provide a platform of education in the form of exhibitions, lectures and activities that emphasize the importance of art in personal and community life, and serves to facilitate the opportunity for networking and support for its members and friends.
