It is Not Just the Pro’s Who Fancy Their Luck at Piggs Peak Casino's Final All Africa Poker Tournament of 2009

With a limited number of seats available at the final All Africa Poker Tournament for this year, both amateur and pro poker players alike are lining up to claim their seat and a chance to win a share of the three and a half Million Rand pot. The Tournament will be held at Piggs Peak Hotel and Casino in Swaziland from the 19th to 22nd November, with some of Southern Africa’s poker pros like Ray Rahme, Ryan Brauer, Mel Banfield, Kinesh Pather and Ryan Eber having already secured their seats.

Piggs Peak, Swaziland, October 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- But this hasn’t deterred the amateur players. In recent years, an emerging trend at international poker competitions is to see more and more newcomers make it to the final table. The same trend is beginning to emerge at the All Africa Poker Tournaments. With every tournament, the number of new players that see an opportunity and enter is growing, and their success rate is flourishing. Almost 20% of the players that participated in the August All Africa Poker Tournament were amateurs.

And as always, All Africa Poker attracts celebrities from far and wide, and this November tournament is no exception with the inclusion of talented singer Danny K and Supersport presenter Neil Andrews.

Speaking of celebrities, who can forget watching the quiet and unassuming local poker celebrity Warren Zackey make his way to the final table in the May 2009 All Africa Poker Tournament and then be placed 2nd overall. Zackey – who had only being playing poker for a few years after following the action on the All Africa Poker Channel on DSTV, and playing online tournaments – walked away with over R2,600,000 (US$352,832) and a grand reputation to boot.

One of the big attractions of the All Africa Poker Tournament is the fact that it enables all players, on any level of skill, to compete and test their poker prowess against some of the greatest names in the business. The stakes are high – the winner walks away with the prestigious title of All Africa Poker Champion and receives R1 million cash – and the odds of an ordinary player causing an upset are real.

Players that make it through all the shuffling and dealing to the final table are assured of fantastic winnings that cascade down from the jackpot R1 million, to substantial second and third place earnings of R600,000 and R425,000 respectively, continuing to 10th position who walks off with a cool R125,000 – no small pay day.

It’s been a busy year for poker and what better way to celebrate the end of it by participating and shining at the final 2009 All Africa Poker Tournament. The sponsors of this great tournament, Piggs Peak Casino have confirmed that there will be quarterly tournaments in 2010. Be a part of the crowning of the next millionaire – who knows, it could be you.
