Calloway’s Nursery Awards Prizes to Cora Vinca Contest Winners

Fort Worth, TX, October 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Calloway’s Nursery recently awarded $850 in garden gift cards to the first, second and third place winners of the 2009 Cora Vinca Contest.

On March 15, 2009 Calloway’s Nursery called for Texas gardeners to plant Cora Vinca plants in their garden then upload images of the fruits of their labor to the mytexasgarden.com website. For five months members of the Calloway’s Nursery garden club and visitors to the website voted on the entries. In late September, the winners were announced: Walter Domalske of McKinney, Jo Meuer of Flower Mound and Ronnie Smith of Arlington won first, second and third place respectively.

On Sept. 24, 2009, Kimberly Bird, Calloway’s Vice President of Retail Marketing and Kara Roberson, Calloway’s Marketing Specialist personally delivered the prizes to the winners’ homes. Roberson remarked, “I am very excited so many people are learning about Cora Vincas. They are bred for disease resistance and summer resilience. I had the privilege of meeting all three winners. They shared with us their love for these beauties. These long-lasting flowers thrive in full sun exposure, setting this variety apart from the rest!”

“We were thrilled to partner with Goldsmith Seeds for this fun and educational contest. All of the contest participants are winners, and we really appreciate everyone sharing their gardens and landscapes with Calloway’s,” Kimberly Bird, Vice President of Retail Marketing said.
