)-- National Computer Corporation (NCC) a leading developer and distributor of point of sale systems for the foodservice industry, is pleased to announce the latest version of their POS-5700 system.
The POS-5700, featuring an embedded operating system and POS application in an all-in-one 15” touch screen terminal, is designed with the needs of foodservice operators and value added resellers in mind. While offering the most flexible and powerful feature set in its class, the POS-5700 is also easy to set-up, install, and maintain. By utilizing compact flash rather than a hard drive, and embedding the operating system, the POS-5700 provides a secure, reliable system that is built to meet the demands of today’s restaurant operations.
This new version takes the POS-5700 to a new level by incorporating VNC Server directly into the point of sale terminal, resellers, service companies, and merchants will be able to provide remote control support directly to the terminal level. “As we studied the Windows based POS Systems, we definitely saw that the ability to provide remote control support was a clear advantage they offered, but with those types of systems there also runs risks of malicious software being installed on the POS Terminal that clearly could compromise sensitive store information. Since the POS-5700 does not run on an open operating system, and our VNC connection does not provide the ability to copy or load files to our terminal, the POS-5700 is a safe and secure solution that does exactly what it is intended to do, run the point of sale,” says Chuck Prince, NCC Sales Manager.
With new concerns in the foodservice industry regarding security of sensitive data, the need for a safe and secure point of sale system is now greater than ever before. “This has always been one of the key drivers behind our product development. We understand that features are important but they need to be incorporated in balance with maintaining a reliable, secure system that allows our customers to efficiently manage their business,” says Doug Harris, NCC President.
For more than 20 years, NCC has been creating comprehensive management solutions for the foodservice industry. With over 20,000 systems installed in more than 30 countries worldwide, NCC offers a full line of products including point of sale, time and attendance, back office, and headquarters all developed and supported directly by NCC.
