Independent Horror Delivering Real Life Scares- Represented by Frank Torres Strategies

Indie Horror Film delivers realistic depiction of school house bullying over sexuality.

Orlando, FL, October 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- When hundreds of film viewers filled a popular theater in Central Florida, there was an independent horror film rounding out the program of projects that were being screened that day. What “Slip of the Tongue” delivered that afternoon was a real life horror reality that so many high school teens deal with everyday.

“Slip of Tongue” was not meant to be “Schindler’s List” or anything like that. It is a campy horror/suspense film that was meant to deliver a fun, gruesome time. Where this indie hits home is when one of the main characters, who is a lesbian gets pelted with slurs from a bully standing in her driveway. Youth has graduated from bullying about funny haircuts and cheap sneakers to religion and in this case, sexuality.

The bullying does not stop there. In the film’s most memorable scene the main antagonist and her buddies lure the victim into a trap where she is tied down to a chair and abused into submission before being released. In a dangerous example of the madness escalating, the victim’s lover returns to the house and exacts bloody revenge on the tormentors. It’s a scary reminder of the violent stories that pop up on the news from time to time and the extremely harmful effects of school house bullying that happens everyday.

Director Brian Troxell (a father himself) goes on to say “I think that’s an important message that parents who watch my film can relate to. Bullying in school doesn’t always go away as kids get older, sometimes it gets worse. I guess it doesn’t hurt to take the walk home with your kids every now and then.” “Slip of the tongue” is available on DVD and for sale on Amazon.
