Chapel Hill, NC, October 14, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- On Tuesday, October 20, 2009, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit restaurants across the country will offer Big Barbecue Sandwiches for only $1, from 11 AM – 2 PM.
“The $1 only sandwich sale marks Dickey’s Barbecue’s 68th Anniversary and is a small way to say thank you to our loyal customers,” said Dickey’s President Roland Dickey Jr.
In addition to the national promotion, the locations in Cary and Durham, North Carolina will offer the Big Barbecue Sandwiches for only $2 regularly priced at $4.99, from 2 PM – close.
The original Dickey’s Barbecue opened in Dallas in 1941, and is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family. Today, Dickey’s Barbecue has over 100 locations nationwide with more opening soon.
“Our customers are the reason we’ve been able to expand and take barbecue mainstream over the past 68 years.” said Roland Dickey Jr., “We hope long-time customers and first time customers alike will enjoy $1 sandwiches on Oct. 20.”
The Dickey family remains at the core of the business with the founder’s sons, T.D. Dickey Jr. and Roland Dickey Sr. working at the head of the company and third generation Roland Dickey Jr. serving as the company’s President. The Dickey family works closely in their restaurants and with franchise owners to ensure every Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurant stays true to the family recipes that customers have come to expect over the years.
Dickey’s has evolved from a locally owned and operated business in Dallas to a national brand with a presence in 28 states.
“I am always so excited when I see a Dickey’s ‘Big Yellow Cup Club’ anyplace – in a car at a stop light, being carried down the street. Wherever I see them, it reminds me how far we’ve come and how far I would still like us to go and that our great customers are the reason for this,” said Roland Dickey Jr.
Following the lead of the Dickey family in North Carolina Gregory and Maureen Woloszczuk head the local ownership and operations for the Cary and Durham locations. They have six children all with various degrees of involvement in the business.
“We have decided to extend the offer in appreciation of our customers helping us open two area locations in less than two years thus the $2 special,” said Gregory. Maureen stated “we are hearing from our customers that this is a tremendous value and they plan to introduce many new people and bring their family for additional visit to us during the week”. She also said “this is also a great opportunity for people to try something different at a very low cost point such as our smoked turkey 98% fat free, ham, polish sausage, and many more meats that we hickory smoke everyday.”
The $1 Big Barbecue Sandwich offer is valid only on October 20, from 11 AM – 2PM nationally and the $2 Big Barbecue Sandwich is only available in 5318 New Hope Commons Drive (off 15/501 & Mt.
