Surveillance Jobs Top Gaming/Casino Wage Survey Results

WageWatch, Inc. releases 2009 Casino/Gaming compensation survey findings, showing surveillance job averages on the rise above other departments.

Scottsdale, AZ, October 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Of five major departments found in a casino, the surveillance department tops the group with the highest average pay rates. Jobs in the surveillance department are key to stopping fraud and ensuring the safety of casino patrons. The average hourly pay rates are $16 per hour, while managers average $57,000 per year.

“The demand for qualified people in this profession has accelerated ever since 9/11, with many employers boosting their security and surveillance staff levels and government agencies creating new jobs”, said Margaret Dyekman, President and Chief Operating Officer of WageWatch, Inc.

As year-end approaches, many gaming organizations are examining their balance sheets with greater focus towards payroll as the highest expense. To help make sense of the competitive labor market and help strategize into the next quarter, WageWatch has officially released the 2009 Gaming/Casino Compensation Survey report, in an electronic PDF file. The survey makes valuable hourly and salary compensation data available to casino executives and human resource professionals, in time to alleviate the stress of next year’s budget planning.

The data collected is the largest amount of casino wage and salary data found in the U.S. and includes 54 participants, representing 46,000 employees, with compensation data on 184 positions specific to the Gaming/Casino industry. The compensation survey results are displayed by geographic region, showing the 25th percentile, average, median, and 75th percentile data on both hourly and salary positions, plus incentive data. The report is offered as a downloadable Adobe PDF file.
