2010 Honda Insight Hybrid to Debut at N.C. State - A Student Run Marketing Agency Plans Events to Promote Awareness of the Hybrid Vehicle

Raleigh, NC, October 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Red and White Concepts (R.A.W.) has developed an integrated marketing campaign to introduce the 2010 Honda Insight hybrid to their campus and community. The campaign, “Boost Your ECO”, is designed to increase awareness of and excitement for the Insight, positioning it as a “must-have” in the minds of the Generation Y target market.

The campaign will feature multiple promotions for the Honda Insight over two days beginning with an information session in the N.C. State University campus brickyard on Tuesday, October 27 from 11am to 2pm. There will be a Honda Insight available to encourage interaction with their target market - college-aged students from 18-24. R.A.W. Concepts will distribute flyers with specs of the Honda Insight and promotions for Thursday’s big event. A corn-hole contest will be held using the Honda Insight Econ Button logo to promote eco-friendliness. Prizes, including $25 gas cards and koozies, will be awarded to the winner of the “Guess the Amount” contest held. Food will be provided by Cuevo de Lobos Mexican Restaurant in Raleigh and drinks will be provided by Cheerwine.

On Thursday, October 29, the main event will take place in Harris Field from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The 2010 Honda Insight will be available for student interaction encouraged by another chance to win a $25 gas card awarded to the person who wins the “Guess the Amount” candy game. There will also be another corn hole contest featuring the Honda Insight Econ Button logo. Prizes for the winner of the corn hole contest include $5 off Chili’s coupons and key chains. Performances by the NCSU Clogging Team and the Fusion dance team are scheduled as well as a performance by local hip- hop phenomenon, Bryce Snow and DJ Lil Bee. Pizza and drinks donated by Cheerwine will be provided for those in attendance.

The campaign is part of the Honda Insight Marketing Competition, a program designed to give students a unique, real-world business experience by asking them to fully design and implement an integrated marketing communications plan. “This program has given me the opportunity to experience real-life marketing activities that can only be learned outside of the classroom.” said Alyssa Feranec, a senior in the College of Management, and a member of R.A.W. Concepts.

The 21 schools across the country participating in the Honda Insight Marketing Competition are competing against one another for the opportunity to present their ideas to Honda executives at the term’s conclusion. The top three teams will participate in the final competition in Los Angeles, California for a chance to win the grand prize of a $5,000 donation for the college.
