Eatontown, NJ, October 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Roadmaster (USA) Corp., an innovative after-market manufacturer of mobile audio, video and multi-media systems, announced today the launch of the iPod® Audio/Video Head Unit (VRVD400IV) and the iPod Audio Head Unit (VR100IA). Both units incorporate internal docking stations specifically engineered for a broad range of iPods in order to appeal to the widest possible market.

The primary attraction of the internal docking station over typical docking stations is that the iPod is secured within the unit. “Once the iPod is inserted, it’s safe from being accidentally damaged by people in the vehicle, as well as not blocking other controls on the dashboard,” said Ben Pivinski, an engineer at Roadmaster (USA)®. “Also, an internal docking station is preferable to connecting an iPod via cable because cables allow for loose connections, signal degradation and damage from external influences.” Another benefit of the internal docking station is that the iPod is stored safely out of sight even when the driver is out of the car thereby minimizing the likelihood of theft.

Both units offer such customary characteristics as a detachable faceplate, EQ presets, subwoofer control, RDS, 30 preset stations, etc. They also exhibit more distinctive features such as an SD/MMC card slot, USB port, RCA line outputs for an external amplifier and a full function remote control to spotlight a few. While the VR100IA plays MP3, WMA and OGG, the VRVD400IV also plays DivX, MPEG1, MPEG2, JPEG and M-JPEG. Additionally, the VRVD400IV incorporates a 3” Thin Film Transistor LCD Monitor which displays videos, unit controls, iPod menus and displays. Either unit charges the iPod while docked.

While the VR100IA is compatible with the iPod 4G, 4G Photo/Color, 5G, Classic and Classic 2G, Mini and Mini 2G, Nano 1G-4G and the iPod touch 1G and 2G, it only plays audio. It will however play the audio tracks of a video file. The VRVD400IV is compatible with the same iPods and will play both audio and video files.

Initially the VRVD400IV and the VR100IA will be available at Walmart stores across the country and shortly thereafter available at a wide array of outlets. Additionally, future generations will incorporate more features and benefits.
