Tribeca Film Festival Winner Chronicles Liberian Women’s Fight to Unite Across Religious Boundaries and Bring Peace to their War-Torn Country

"Does a bullet know a Christian from a Muslim?"

Metuchen, NJ, October 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Passion River Films will be releasing "Pray the Devil Back to Hell," an impassioned and uplifting film about Liberian women's successful fight to end their country's civil war. The film will be available on Netflix and in retail stores on November 10, 2009 launching off the producer Abigail E. Disney's "Peace Is Loud" campaign.

"Pray the Devil Back to Hell" takes viewers deep into the heart of Liberia, a country divided by civil war. Using entirely non-violent methods, thousands of women of all ages cross religious boundaries to unite and force a resolution to the war plaguing their country. Bringing to center-stage these unsung heroes, the film has the power to move people to action. Bob Strauss, LA Daily News, says "The story of the women's groups-Christian and Muslim, uniting for the first time in the nation's history-is unbelievably inspiring."

The renowned women behind this film have long focused on illuminating women's struggles for social justice. Director Gini Reticker has a long history of working on award winning films focusing on the struggles and triumphs of women in developing nations, including the Emmy award winning "Ladies First," focusing on women's roles in Rwanda after the genocide.

Producer Abigail Disney is Founder and President of the Daphne Foundation which supports organizations in New York's low income communities, while Director of Photography Kirsten Johnson has worked on award winning films "Asylum" and "Ladies First."

Leymah Gbowee, the woman who takes the lead in the revolutionary action captured in this film, is the founder and executive director of Women in Peace Security Network - Africa. She has received the JFK Library's Profile in Courage Award and will be receiving the Gruber Prize for Women's Rights on October 30.
