Yellow Van Cleaning & Restoration's Keiter Appointed to IICRC Board of Directors

Twenty-eight year cleaning and disaster restoration veteran is called upon to help shape future policy and standards for the industry.

Kearney, NE, November 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Yellow Van Cleaning & Restoration announced today that CEO Dave Keiter has been appointed by the Professional Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners Association (PCUCA) to the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) board of directors. Keiter’s term officially began October 18, 2009 and is a two-year term.

Formed in 1972, the IICRC is the standard-setting agency and certification registry for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries. The association currently boasts more than 4,600 member firms and 43,000 certified technicians in 30 countries. Its mission is to hold member firms to the highest standards of performance and ethics and to advance communication and technical proficiencies across these sectors. Consumers who select IICRC firms or technicians are assured that all work completed will be done in accordance with the IICRC's standard of care.

As owner and CEO of Yellow Van Cleaning & Restoration, Keiter is responsible for directing development of services and training in both restoration, janitorial, and residential departments. Additionally, Keiter is responsible for identifying market trends and sales opportunities. Keiter also serves as a board member to the PCUCA located in Denver, CO, which serves 12 Western states, including Nebraska.

Additionally, Keiter holds many industry certifications including Master Water Restorer, Health and Safety, Carpet Repair and Reinstallation, Odor Control, Applied Structural Drying, Applied Microbial Remediation, Rug Cleaning Technician, Carpet Cleaning, and Upholstery/Fabric Cleaning through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). He has also attended training through the Reets Academy with the Thermal Energy Systems (TES), and has presented several classes for continuing education through the Nebraska Department of Insurance.

Keiter added that while the pressure to deliver is even greater now, he is proud to say he is able to take a more active part in determining the course of the cleaning and restoration industries.

"It is truly an honor to be asked to serve in this capacity," said Keiter. "I've always considered myself a steward of the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries, but this appointment by the IICRC formally confirms that role. Moving forward, it is incumbent upon me to utilize my experience and skill sets to the fullest in order to hold our member firms and technicians to the highest levels of excellence.

"Quite frankly, I have been preparing myself my entire career for this type of challenge. We are in the business of getting people's lives back on track - restoring their peace of mind. And I cannot think of a nobler endeavor."
