Love Conquers All, Surrender. One Tropical Honeymoon Resorts Answer to an Ailing Economy.

When times are tough in the tourist industry, owners/operators are looking for ways to hang on. One resort in Santa Teresa Costa Rica has a unique way of responding to this problem.

Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, November 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Love Conquers All, Surrender

When it comes to love, is there any emotion or force more powerful?

We all know love can launch a thousand ships, make a heart skip a beat and even turn the hardest of men into Jello?

2009 was a tough year simply put. For many hard working people; jobs, homes and savings were lost and still, love marched on.

It seems that love has no economic boundaries, and if so, it appears to favor the poor.

If you have recently surrendered to love, if you have been bitten so hard that you could not resist the temptation to say those words, “I love you” and eventually have found yourself preparing the proverbial walk 'down that aisle", hopefully you've set aside some cash to get you through the next few months.

You're going to need to purchase rings and things, things for the wedding day, a celebration and eventually the honeymoon. These are expenses you can not hide from no matter how bad a year it's been.

Luxury vacation destinations throughout the world are reporting losses from 35% to 65% for 2009. Many hotels and resorts have already failed while others continue to struggle and try to hang on a little longer waiting for an economic rebound.

One resort owner in Santa Teresa Costa Rica has decided to invite newlyweds to his resort at no charge by giving away several free honeymoon packages in 2010.

His idea is to get more people talking about his private beach front estate in hopes of luring in more and more honeymooners in spite of the economy. And how does he plan to do this?

Mike Radler, owner of The Red Palm Villas says, "we have these amazing villas right on the beach, everyone loves them, many guests refer to them as Frank Lloyd Wright inspired architecture. When our clients leave, all they can do it talk about these homes to their friends, so I figured the more people talking about The Red Palm Villas, eventually the more guests we will receive."

Mike Radler feels grass root marketing techniques such as word of mouth are still a viable way to promote his business and it's services.

And how does he plan to expand the base of people talking about his resort? "I was once told by a dear friend and successful hotel operator that it's better to have someone in your place who will leave and tell others about it than to let it just sit there empty so, I'm giving away free honeymoon vacations until things turn around."

Mike Radler's private beachfront resort, The Red Palm Villas, is located in Santa Teresa Costa Rica, a pristine and relatively undiscovered part of the Costa Rica Pacific coastline which means, "things were tough before the collapse of the economy in 2009, now this community is even more challenged to eek out a living."

"One of the goals we set for 2010 was to make it or best year ever". Seems pretty optimistic considering the times but, already The Red Palms Villas reports its 2010 Reservations are up over 40% from 2009.

Why? Mike believes it's because of the philosophy of The Red Palms and it's staff, "we believe the customer is king, without them we have nothing, therefor, we listen to every comment and suggestion they make and more importantly, we really care and the guests can sense that we are sincere in our effort to please them. We know for many, the holiday they take each year is most likely their only holiday, therefore, we are determined to make sure they get what they need, plenty of rest, a chance to recharge their batteries, an opportunity to experience a different culture and Costa Rica's vibrant wildlife. When they return from The Red Palms we always do our best to send them home with an amazing experience and memories they will treasure forever. If we accomplish this, we know they will return and also, we know they will tell a friend, and sometimes, word of mouth can be more powerful a marketing tool than many of the new high tech tools used today for marketing businesses.
