New Daytona Beach Skatepark Set for Grand Opening

The 16,000 square foot facility will officially open on Saturday, November 7th.

Daytona Beach, FL, November 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Construction of the new Bethune Point Skatepark in Daytona Beach, Florida has been completed and will officially open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 7th. The skatepark was planned, designed, and constructed by Spohn Ranch Skateparks – a California-based firm specializing in the design and construction of custom concrete skateparks.

Using a combination of pre-cast concrete elements and poured-in-place concrete features, Spohn Ranch was able to create a one-of-a-kind skatepark for the city of Daytona Beach. The skatepark is set to become one of the premiere skateparks in the state of Florida – becoming a valuable asset for the City of Datyona Beach and its skaters.

Some of the unique features of this park include a colossal pre-cast concrete clam shell, pre-cast Skateable Art pieces such as the “Roll-Over Whip” and “Broken Pyramid”, and an extra-wide “Bent Penny” pre-cast bank textured with grooves for an innovative real-world skating experience. The skatepark also features a unique in-ground bowl with pool-tile coping.

The grand opening ceremony on Saturday will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, various contests, and open skating for the skaters who’ve been patiently waiting to try out their new skatepark.
